Artist Profile: Ekke!
The colorful murals at Cat Town don’t just paint themselves — but the speed and talent with which Michelle Chen (aka Ekke!) created our alien cat mural made it feel as though it might have sprung to life on its own, fully formed. The vibrant colors make our Adoption Center a joyous space for guests and adopters alike — and the funds raised by the donations it has generated has helped us save more shelter cats.

They say that good things come in threes, but in this case our wonderful tabbies came in a huge wave of 17 cats for the month of October! Not only was this a fun challenge for our staff and volunteers — who deftly differentiated each cat by subtle coat variations, ear tips, nose and eye color, or simply their different personalities — it meant lots of striped and swirled cats got out of the shelter and into loving homes.
