July 2021 Adoptions

We’re in the thick of summer, which means that the shelter is filling up with animals. Fortunately, we were able to help 36 hard-to-adopt cats find homes in July!

We helped 11 bonded pairs and 8 forgotten kittens, as well as senior cats, stressed cats, and cats with medical and behavioral needs — including dental work, litter box problems, and more. This month, we’re highlighting a number of adoptions who all have something in common: these cats were guardian surrenders who got their second chances at Cat Town…

Thank you for helping these budding friendships grow in our community. You make it possible for us to spread this happiness by supporting our work…

June 2021 Adoptions

Your support makes everything we do possible — in ways big and small. Every time we celebrate a victory for one of our cats, we know that it’s because we have you behind us.

Thank you for helping each of these cats get the best possible start on the rest of their lives. In June we found homes for cats with FIV, like Boomasaurus Rex, Frederick, Kirin, and Katsu. We found homes for senior cats like Julius, and for cats with medical needs like Ganon and Laney. We helped stressed cats like Cypress, and Forgotten Kittens like Dr. Leg and Elle Fury…

May 2021 Adoptions

Each time we say goodbye to a Cat Town cat, we get to witness the start of a new friendship. In May, we saw scores of young cats find homes — including 9 scared Forgotten Kittens like Sinope, Bergamot, and Forest whose adopters knew they’d need extra time in their new surroundings to feel safe. We coincidentally saw 9 sets of bonded pairs go home together, where they quickly helped each other settle into new routines.

4 Tips on Keeping Houseplants with Cats

A few years back, some friends of mine told me a harrowing tale about how their cat got into a bouquet of lilies that were sitting on their dining room table. Long story short: a large medical bill and a huge scare later, they (and I) learned that lilies are not only poisonous to cats, but potentially deadly as well. Ever since, I’ve been extremely cautious about bouquets of flowers, but let’s be honest — I don’t receive flowers that often, so I chose to plantify my home with more permanent greenery…

April 2021 Adoptions

Last month we helped more than 30 “hard-to-place” cats get adopted, thanks to support from our community of volunteers, donors, fosters, and more. We’re especially thrilled to celebrate the adoptions of two bonded pairs and long-time foster cats Tiger and Fawn, and Levi and Phoebe. Still other cats, like Hampton and Nettle, got snapped up immediately after being at our Adoption Center for less than a week. Regardless of how long it took these cats to find their special human, we’re so grateful they did. Thank you to everyone who…
