Thank You from Cat Town

Thanks to you, not only did we reopen the Adoption Center, but we ended 2020 more resilient than ever. Our team members are deeply touched, relieved, and our hearts are overwhelmingly full of gratitude.
— Andrew Dorman, Executive Director

Dear Friends,

Thank you for being a part of the Cat Town community and joining in our mission to save the most vulnerable shelter cats.

My first year as Cat Town's Executive Director is coming to a close, and what a year it has been! I am so grateful to each of you — our donors, volunteers, fosters, adopters, staff, supporters, and allies in animal welfare — for being with us through every hazard of this past year.

Your remarkable support means more than I can say.

When, after just two months in my new role, I made the decision to close our adoption center due to the pandemic, I didn't know if we would ever be able reopen. Our financial situation was serious and we have relied on revenue from events and paying visitors to operate. I quickly learned that you, the Cat Town community, have our backs!

Thanks to you, not only did we reopen the Adoption Center, but we ended 2020 more resilient than ever. Our team members are deeply touched, relieved, and our hearts are overwhelmingly full of gratitude.

We accomplished so much together this past year. Despite the challenges, 2020 was one of the best years for Cat Town's life-saving work. We had a banner year for adoptions — and helped more seniors, more sick cats, and more scared kittens in the past 12 months than we had since 2016. We could not have done it without you in our corner.

As we look to the future, we know the next year won't be easy either. Our community still faces deep racial and economic inequities, an ongoing pandemic, political unrest, and many other challenges. Our local governments may see deep budget cuts, which will directly impact services to our most vulnerable friends and neighbors. Our local animal shelters are likely to be stressed like never before.

At Cat Town however, we are filled with optimism. We know that our community can rise to the challenges of 2021, whatever they may be. We feel deeply privileged to be the safety net for the most-vulnerable cats. And we'll be here for our community, offering to all who need it the quirky, loving companionship of a cat.

On behalf of the entire Cat Town team, we thank you, and wish you a happy and healthy new year!

Warmest wishes,

Andrew Dorman
