December 2020 Adoptions

Not only did we end December with lots of happy adoptions, we also ended the year on a high note! In total, 315 cats found homes last year — our best year of adoptions since 2016. These are 315 cats who would otherwise have struggled to get adopted. Thanks to your support, December was a fantastic month for our feline friends, and we’re delighted to celebrate each and every adoption, and new family made. Here are just a few cats who found homes in December, thanks to your support:

Sweet Pluto, now known as Samwise, was super stressed in his shelter cage — but at our Adoption Center, he immediately began making biscuits on his adopters when they met him in December. He has been settling in well, and so far, the introduction to his new sisters, Pippin, and Arwen, is going smoothly.

At the city shelter, little Wilson was so scared that he bolted away from anyone who tried to approach him in his cage. After a few months with one of our fosters, he made great strides, and is now doing wonderfully in his adopted home! Wilson loves to nap with his brother, Ichi, and is even comfortable being held in his adopter’s arms.

When Gladys first arrived at her foster home back in March she was a Forgotten Kitten, and so scared that she climbed on top of the bathroom fixture. Her foster was exceptionally patient, and helped her transform into a lap cat with lots of TLC. Now Gladys is officially adopted, and doing great in her new home — we couldn’t be more proud of her!

Another happy foster fail! Dylan arrived in our care at 13 years old, with a laundry list of medical issues ranging from hyperthyroidism to dental disease — but the thing that had us most worried was that he had stopped eating. After urgent medical intervention, he found his footing again, and stole his foster’s heart in the process.

Forgotten Kittens Blue Ridge and Blackmore have been adopted — it’s a foster fail! What a perfect ending for this bonded pair — especially knowing that Blackmore has had a lot of help managing his seizures, and growing at a healthy rate, from his devoted foster. The two became official family members on Christmas day.

We’re honored to be able to help each of these cats find loving caretakers — and grateful to you for making these happy endings possible. Thank you again for making 2020 a banner year for these once-overlooked shelter cats!
