Helping Bindy Recover

When Bindy first arrived in our care, she was miserable, with one of the worst double ear infections we’ve seen.

Sweet, affectionate Bindy is in much better health now, thanks to donations to our Emergency Medical Fund. Prior to her treatment, though, her ears were bleeding, and her left ear was so swollen that medicated ear drops couldn’t reach the infected area. It was completely shut. She couldn’t hear.

Miss Bindy was not very happy about any of this, but she did her best to hide her pain. Fortunately we were able to get ear drops into her right ear, which has opened up a bit more, and may be able to recover. Her left ear, however, was not treatable, so this month we got her to a special vet to perform a TECA-CO: Total Ear Canal Ablation and Bulla Osteotomy. This means Bindy has just one ear now, but is in far less pain.

We’re working to help this gentle girl recover completely, and continuing to treat her remaining ear so that she can, we hope, regain part of her hearing. Her foster reports that since her surgery, Bindy is like a little shadow by their side, day and night, begging for chin scratches (which they of course give out freely).

Bindy is just one of dozens of cats we have been able to help this year, thanks to donations to our Emergency Medical Fund — which not only paid for her surgery, but helps us pay for Bindy’s continued treatment. Your donations today can help us bring comfort to more cats in pain, so that they can move forward with their lives.

Thank you for helping us support more cats with urgent medical needs!
