We started the new year off with a bang — and 42 adoptions! We’re so grateful to everyone who donated, shared our social media posts, and rooted for our cats from all corners of our community, because your support is what got these cats home.
December 2022 Adoptions
What better way to end the year than by finding homes for plenty of deserving cats? Last month you helped us do just that for 41 lucky cats — including 6 kittens from our new adoption area at the Rockridge Pet Food Express!
Summer School... in December!
Summer may be long over, but at Cat Town, Summer School is still in session! Seeing the enormous influx of cats at Oakland Animal Services earlier this year, we strategized with their staff to find a way to help the greatest number of at-risk cats and kittens. Summer School was our solution.
Laszlo is on His Way Home
The day after I first met 8-year-old Laszlo at the shelter, all the cats in his section of the shelter went into quarantine for two weeks. I couldn’t visit him, but I couldn’t get him off my mind. I’d peek in the window to his room — and he’d see me and meow with everything he had. He couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t just come in to say hi.
Who Did You Save This Year (Part 3)

Bali and Ceres
When I think of what donations can make possible at Cat Town, I think of Bali and Ceres. Their adoption is still one of my favorites, because it probably wouldn’t have happened anywhere else.
