KITTEN WIRE: BLACK CAT SPOTLIGHT
OAKLAND — We're celebrating black cats this week, so I wanted to tell you about two panther-like kitties in our Forgotten Kitten Project.
Tofu came to Cat Town like so many of our younger cats, with notes from Oakland Animal Services that say she was a stray, prone to hissing, and a little hard to handle. Now at around 3 months old, Tofu gets gets regular visits from specially trained volunteers and staff, who offer treats and pets.

JULY 2017 ADOPTIONS
July was an exciting month for adoptions! We saw a number of pairs go home, including Ranger & Gibson and Gretchen & Natalie, both of which didn't arrive bonded, but left with a friend! Zoe, who'd been in a foster home for quite a while finally found her person, and 10-year-old declawed Andre, went home after less than a week at Cat Town.
Will you join our list of August adopters? Be sure to check out our current adoptable cats and email info@cattownoakland.org to inquire.

Black Cat Adoption Special
This week, from Sunday, August 13th to Saturday August 19th, we're celebrating black cats (and a few mostly black fur tuxedos) in honor of Black Cat Appreciation Day on Thursday, August 17th.

KITTEN WIRE: INTRODUCING THE FORGOTTEN KITTEN PROJECT
OAKLAND — A slow blink. A sniff of the finger. Maybe even perked ears.
These are the subtle signs cats give us to say they might be receptive to a human's company.
At Cat Town, where the focus is on special-needs cats, we don't take any of these signals lightly.
