
Calling all Artists
It’s our 2024 T-Shirt design contest!
Do you love cats and art? Do you want to help Oakland’s most vulnerable cats, while getting your work seen? This is your opportunity!
This artwork by Alegra Figeroid is one of many great designs we’ve been lucky to feature over the years.
The winner will receive
Two T-shirts with the winning design, and a lifelong 15% discount on additional shirts with the winning design.
Twenty passes to visit Cat Town.
An artist profile on Cat Town’s blog.
All product descriptions and social media posts will include your name and a link to your website and/or social media handle.
The T-shirt with the winning design will be sold at our Adoption Center, which receives 10,000 visitors per year, as well as in our online store and at events.
Two runner-ups will each receive 6 passes to visit Cat Town.
Submission Guidelines
This year’s theme is “Mischief!” You may interpret the theme however you like!
Design must include the words "Cat Town" in some way, with lettering at least one inch tall. Designs must be 2 or fewer colors.
Files must be submitted as PNG or JPG images with a resolution of at least 300 DPI. Maximum size is 10”x10” and/or 20 MB. Please make sure to outline your text before exporting and send with RGB colors (here’s a How To). If your design does not include a background, don’t forget to export as a PNG with transparency.
Please name your files as: LastName_FirstName_DesignName
Deadline to submit is Sunday, July 7, 2024 11:59 PM PDT. Email your submission to merchandise@cattownoakland.org. Please include your name, sharable social media handle, and website, if applicable.
Selection Process
Cat Town staff will select finalists. Finalists will be shared publicly on social media, and the winning design will be chosen by public vote.
Cat Town may share any design submissions we receive on social media at our discretion. If so, we will credit you and link to your website and/or social media handle.

By submitting to Cat Town’s T-shirt design contest, the winning artist agrees to the following usage terms:
1. The artist will own their artwork and will grant Cat Town exclusive license to use the Authored Work and derivative designs to produce merchandise (such as clothing, mugs, bags, and other household items) for sale. The Artist will retain title and ownership of the design, and derivative works will be assigned to Cat Town by the Artist.
2. Cat Town acquires the right to generate profit through the sale of products with the Artist's artwork. Unless the prior written approval of the Artist is obtained, Cat Town may not modify or change the Authored Work in any manner.
