November 2021 Adoptions

From helping three bonded cats get adopted together to finding homes for some of our most long-term cats ever — our hearts are full of joy from all the adoptions we had in November. Your support makes these stories possible, and last month, you gave happily-ever-afters to 37 shelter cats who needed extra support. Thank you so much for being a champion for our cats!

In 2020, Pita came to Cat Town after being shut down in her shelter cage, and made very slow progress with her confidence and trust. We tried a variety of approaches to help her feel at ease, including introducing her to multiple confident cats who might befriend her, but she never gave any of them the time of day — until she met young Miro. This little siamese mix seemed to instantly connect with Pita, and the two brought out the best in one another. After more than a year with us, Pita has found a BFF, found her courage, and found a home.

Rashida was trapped by a Good Samaritan and brought to the shelter for a chance at a safer life — but she soon became stressed out by her shelter cage. We got her to a foster home, where she felt more at ease and could let her sweet side show. She just got adopted by someone who had been waiting five years to find the right cat, and little Rashida fit the bill.

In his shelter cage, Cowboy lashed out in frustration and had a head tilt that looked suspiciously like something might be wrong with his ears. He needed out of his cage. We moved him into a foster home, and after a vet visit, got him an ear operation to help him live pain-free. His foster fell in love with him during the recovery process, and the rest is history!

Alvin was surrendered to the shelter after living in a home, and quickly became a confident role model for the shyer cats at our Adoption Center. Not long after, he got adopted by someone excited to bring this handsome orange boy home.

Jack had a respiratory infection and a mouth full of painful teeth. As an older cat, we wanted to make sure he had a stress-free place to recover. We got him out of the shelter and into a foster home, where we could provide him with medical care and a doting caretaker to help us get him back into good health. Now he’s been adopted to a home with two other cats — including a Cat Town alum — and the three are thick as thieves!

Shy little Andie (top) was afraid to let people handle her because she didn’t get enough socialization as a kitten. We brought her to our Adoption Center where she could learn to build trust from more confident cats, and someone fell in love with her — hard! They’re excited to help her blossom at home with another Cat Town cat they adopted to be her friend — Montero (bottom), who they’re helping recover from ringworm.
