January 2021 Adoptions

We hit the ground running in 2021 with 26 fabulous adoptions in January! Seniors like Greyson, Kelsey, Kleopatra, and O’Rion got scooped up by doting caretakers, and so did scared kittens like Neptune, Saturn and Gaston who all learned to trust people thanks to lots of patience from our volunteers. Shy and stressed cats, like Sirius and Simba decompressed outside of a cage so they could show everyone who they really are, and cats with medical needs, like Cherry and Sundae, got into tip-top shape and quickly found homes. Plus, the last of the 14 cats who came to us from an overcrowded home last spring got adopted: Tater, No-No, Tai Chi, Belay, and Southpaw!

We are so fortunate to have a community who supports our mission, making it possible to give so many overlooked cats a happy fresh start to the rest of their lives. Thank you for being a lifeline for these cats, the cats in our care today, and the cats who will need us tomorrow! The lucky cats who found homes last month are doing wonderfully, so we wanted to share a few highlights from their adopters with you.

From Tai Chi and Belay’s adopter: They're pretty woven into the family dynamics (both human and feline, especially feline) already and have settled pretty well into daily (and nightly!) routines. They *love* playing with their big brother Mochi, and have some hilarious and charming quirks: for example, Tai Chi is fascinated by every glass of sparkling water I pour, and Belay loves being pet, but usually only when she’s on the floor.

From Lyra’s adopter: She's really starting to acclimate to our home and loves chasing toys, sitting on the window sill, and climbing bookshelves.

From Bucatini’s adopter: Bucatini is doing well — she’s soft like a bunny, has the tiniest meow and soft purr. She had a slow introduction to our other cat, Henry, and our dog, Otis, and now they’re all getting along well and she has free range in the house. Henry has helped her learn how to "cat". When Bucatini starts playing with her toys, Otis wants to join in and will run over with his toy — it’s a funny sight.

From Melody’s adopter: She’s doing great. She has been a little afraid of the living room door opening, but slowly retreating less and less each time and now will usually just look at me as I open the door. She comes right over to cuddle when we com…

She has been a little afraid of the living room door opening, but slowly retreating less and less each time and now will usually just look at me as I open the door. She comes right over to cuddle when we come into the room and has even been playing a little bit.

From Tater and No-No’s adopter: After hiding from us the first couple of days, No-No has decided she loves being scratched and will start purring and following us around when she wants pets. They've started meowing when they want attention and they're now comfortable curling up next to us or on our legs.
