Refund Policy

The following describes Cat Town’s refund policy for any transaction conducted between a patron and Cat Town, including, but not limited to, transactions conducted in person, via email, via postal mail, and through our website. Any changes to this policy will be posted at this location. We encourage you to read the entire policy.

  • Reservations to visit the Cat Town Cafe and Adoption Center are nonrefundable.  Reservations may, however, be rescheduled to a future date no less than 24-hours before the date and time of the original reservation.  Reservations may only be rescheduled online, using the re-booking link found in your reservation confirmation email.

  • Online donations made to Cat Town are processed with the lowest available nonprofit fees. If you have made an error in making your donation to Cat Town, we will honor your request for a refund made within 7 business days of your donation. To request a refund, please email info@cattownoakland.org. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment, except cash donations will be returned via check. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.

  • Purchases from our online store are fulfilled by a third party to enable Cat Town to offer a wide variety of merchandise. All items are produced by our vendor and shipped directly from their facility. While Cat Town has endeavored to assure each product in our shop is of good quality, we cannot guarantee product quality. Because each item is made to order, we cannot exchange or offer refunds for any product once that order has been fulfilled. If a request for refund is made within 24 hours of placing an order, we will do our best to cancel that order prior to fulfillment, in which case a full refund will be issued.

    • Returns: Our return policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange. Only regular priced items may be refunded — unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused, unwashed, and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned, including but not limited to perishable goods, intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases, gift cards, downloadable software products, and some health and personal care items. To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. Please follow instructions for shipping below, and do not send your purchase back to the manufacturer.  We cannot process refunds for items not returned according to our instructions.

    • Refunds: There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted, including but not limited to books with obvious signs of use; CD, DVD, VHS tape, software, video game, cassette tape, or vinyl record that has been opened; any item not in its original condition, damaged, or missing parts for reasons not due to our error; any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within 5 business days. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

    • Late or missing refunds: If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at merchandise@cattownoakland.org.

    • Exchanges: We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, send us an email at merchandise@cattownoakland.org and send your item to: Cat Town, 2863 Broadway Oakland California US 94611.

If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
