Trap-Neuter-Return Workshop with Feral Change

Come meet the Feral Change team, and learn how to do TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) in your neighborhood! TNR is the humane trapping of feral cats to get them spayed or neutered, vaccinated, checked for overall health, then returned to their colony. This important practice helps reduce the number of cats and kittens that end up in shelters or on the streets, decrease euthanasia rates, and save lives.

In this beginner's workshop, you'll learn all the steps to get started doing TNR — including how to use a humane cat trap, the necessary steps to prep cats for surgery and recovery, and more! Stay tuned for more details on how to sign up, coming soon!

If you are having trouble reserving your spot at an event, please email us at reservations[@]cattownoakland.org. Unfortunately we do not currently have the staffing needed to accommodate private parties.

Bottle Baby Kitten Class

Join Feral Change and Katie Carney of Kitten 911 Rescue for a class on how to foster and care for neonatal kittens. This practical class will get you comfortable and prepared to foster bottle babies! You'll learn about feeding and care, supplies, techniques, and tips on when to step in, stand back, or seek urgent help with neonatal kittens. These youngsters are at high risk in shelter environments — by learning how to care for these kittens you can be an invaluable resource to local rescues!

Mindful Yoga

Bring your yoga mat and your intention, rest in the moment, and commune with cats. Join instructor Sarah Woods-LaDue for 50 minutes of relaxation in the Cat Zone! This class is for adults 18+, and suitable for all levels.

Paw n Draw

Grab your favorite sketch pad and put your life-drawing skills to the test! If you're a fan of drawing, a fan of cats, or better yet, a fan of both, we've got the perfect night for you. The quiet sounds of sketching intrigue our cats, so be warned — they just may try to help out with your artistic creation.

This event is BYO art supplies, but we'll provide ballpoint pens, pencils, and crayons you can use. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase from the RAWR Coffee Bar.
